Yudo Hot Runner India Pvt. Ltd. has strengthened its manufacturing footprint in India with the inauguration of a new 40,000 square foot facility in Vasai near Mumbai. Dedicated exclusively to the production of hot runner systems, the new plant more than doubles the company's manufacturing capacity from nearly 190 systems per month to almost 400, marking one of Yudo's largest investments in India to date.

The expansion reflects the company's long-term commitment to supporting India's plastics manufacturing industry through locally manufactured products backed by global engineering expertise. Bringing design, research and development, simulation, manufacturing, assembly and testing under one roof, the new facility also becomes one of Yudo's nine global research and development centres, further strengthening India's position within the company's worldwide manufacturing network that spans 24 plants across more than 45 countries.

Hot runner systems play a vital role in the injection moulding process used to manufacture a wide range of plastic components. In India, Yudo serves several industries including automotive, packaging, medical and PVC, with the automotive segment remaining its largest business. The company currently commands close to 70 percent of the automotive hot runner market in the country.

The increased manufacturing capacity is expected to significantly improve the company's ability to meet domestic demand while offering customers faster deliveries, local engineering support and globally benchmarked quality through its India based research and testing capabilities.

Speaking on the occasion, Vishal Agarwal, President, Yudo Hot Runner India Pvt. Ltd, said, "With demand continuing to grow and customers expecting shorter delivery timelines along with stronger technical support, expanding our manufacturing capacity became essential. This facility enables us to serve the Indian market more effectively while strengthening India's role within Yudo's global manufacturing and engineering network."

Highlighting the company's long-standing presence in the country, Agarwal added that Yudo has been operating in India's hot runner industry for more than 25 years, making it one of the oldest companies in the segment. He noted that Vasai was chosen because of its strong ecosystem for automotive tooling and precision manufacturing.

The new facility currently employs around 100 people and is expected to increase its workforce to about 125 over the next six months. As part of its inclusive manufacturing strategy, Yudo aims to achieve 50 percent female participation on the shop floor by providing structured training for CNC machine operations during day shifts.

Sustainability has also been integrated into the design of the facility. Rooftop solar panels generate renewable power while a rainwater harvesting system helps conserve water resources. Heat resistant films on the building reduce cooling requirements and improve energy efficiency, while a solar daylighting system allows natural light to illuminate the shop floor for most of the day, significantly reducing dependence on artificial lighting.

The investment reflects Yudo's strategy of building a stronger manufacturing base in India while supporting the country's growing plastics industry. By combining global technology with local manufacturing, the company aims to strengthen India's position as an advanced manufacturing destination and contribute to the continued growth of the country's plastics manufacturing ecosystem.
