New Ahmedabad plant strengthens manufacturing capabilities of Ace Designers Limited, thereby driving localisation, faster deliveries, and capacity expansion.

Ace Designers Limited, has inaugurated its new state-of-the-art assembly facility at Pancharatna Industrial Park in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, marking a significant milestone in its growth and expansion strategy. The development underscores the company's commitment to enhancing production capacity, strengthening regional presence, and reinforcing its global footprint.

Designed as a next-generation manufacturing unit, the Ahmedabad facility will, over the next five years, achieve an annual production capacity of approximately 3,000 turning machines and 1,000 machining centres. The plant will initially employ around 100 personnel, with plans to scale up to nearly 350 employees, reflecting a strong focus on workforce development alongside operational expansion.

A key strategic driver behind the new facility is localisation. The company aims to build a robust regional vendor ecosystem, targeting up to 90% localisation for certain product lines, particularly milling machines. This approach is expected to significantly reduce lead times, improve supply chain efficiency, and enable faster deliveries to customers across western India—one of the company's strongest markets.

The Ahmedabad plant also marks a notable operational milestone, being among the first facilities within the group to manufacture both turning and milling machines under one roof. This integrated manufacturing approach is aligned with the evolving needs of modern industries, where precision, flexibility, and speed are critical.

Leadership at Ace emphasised that the decision to establish the plant in Gujarat was driven by the region's strong industrial base, entrepreneurial ecosystem, and its proximity to key customer hubs. With a substantial share of business already originating from Gujarat and neighbouring states, the new facility positions the company closer to its customers, enabling improved service responsiveness and deeper collaboration.

From a broader perspective, the expansion reflects Ace's confidence in India's manufacturing growth story. With expectations of manufacturing contributing up to 20–25% of the country's GDP in the coming decade, the company is aligning its capacity and capabilities to capitalise on this opportunity. The new plant is a step towards doubling overall production volumes in the coming years.

Founded in 1979 by three engineers from the Central Manufacturing Technology Institute (CMTI), Ace Designers began as a design consulting company and went on to establish the Ace Micromatic Group. Following the amalgamation of Ace Designers, Ace Manufacturing Systems, and Micromatic Machine Tools, Ace Designers Limited has emerged as India's largest manufacturer of CNC turning centres and machining centres.

With an anticipated annual turnover exceeding Rs 2,800 crore in FY 2025–26, ADL has the capacity to manufacture 8,000 turning centres and 3,400 machining centres annually. The company has established a strong global presence across Asia, Australia, the Middle East, North and South America, and Europe, and has maintained over 25 years of market leadership in CNC Turning and Machining Centres in India.

TK Ramesh Managing Director, ADL said Our decision to set up this plant in Gujarat is driven by our commitment to be closer to key industrial hubs and our customers. This proximity will enable faster response times, better service support, and deeper collaboration with our customers to enhance their productivity.
