As warehouses become taller, smarter and more space constrained, equipment makers are racing to keep pace with changing industry demands. For Action Construction Equipment Ltd. or ACE, the focus is now firmly on compact, efficient and technology driven warehousing solutions that can help businesses maximise space and productivity.
Speaking about the company's latest offerings, Chetan Gole, CEO of Material Handling Equipment at ACE, said the company is introducing a new range of products aimed specifically at the growing warehousing and logistics sector.
Among the key launches this year is an articulated forklift truck designed for very narrow aisle operations. The equipment can operate in aisles as small as 1.8 to 2 metres while reaching heights of up to 12 metres, making it ideal for modern warehouses where vertical storage is becoming increasingly important.
According to Gole, industries such as FMCG and pharmaceuticals are driving demand for such equipment as companies look to optimise storage capacity within existing warehouse infrastructure.
"We are introducing articulated forklift trucks which are suitable for very narrow aisle applications and help companies utilise vertical space efficiently," he said.
ACE has also introduced a compact 1.5 tonne electric three wheeler forklift truck targeted at warehouses and facilities with limited operating space. The machine is designed to move efficiently within compact indoor environments where manoeuvrability is critical.
The launches come at a time when India's warehousing sector is witnessing rapid expansion, fuelled by ecommerce growth, organised retail and increasing investments in logistics infrastructure. Warehouses are also evolving in terms of scale and sophistication, creating demand for specialised handling equipment.
Apart from forklifts, ACE is also showcasing aerial work platforms such as scissor lifts that can operate at heights of up to 11 metres. Gole noted that many modern warehouses now have internal heights ranging between 10 and 12 metres, requiring regular maintenance and operational access at elevated levels.
"These machines are useful for maintenance, cleaning, painting and other activities at roof level inside warehouses," he explained.
The company's exhibition portfolio also includes electric stackers, lithium ion battery operated pallet trucks and compact electric pallet trucks, reflecting the growing shift toward electric and energy efficient warehouse operations.
While the company remains optimistic about long term opportunities in logistics and material handling, Gole acknowledged that global geopolitical tensions are beginning to impact the business environment.
The ongoing conflict involving the US and Iran, he said, has created disruptions in raw material availability and increased input costs across the sector.
"The war has created shortages of gas and other raw materials, which is driving prices higher," Gole said. "We are facing challenges in imported material as well as rising costs of local raw materials, and this is impacting product pricing."
Beyond rising costs, the uncertainty in global markets has also affected business sentiment, which could influence demand across industries in the coming months.
Despite these challenges, ACE is continuing to expand its ambitions beyond traditional warehousing equipment. The company is now looking closely at opportunities emerging from the growth in import export activity and port infrastructure.
Gole revealed that ACE is developing container stackers and a broader range of port handling equipment as part of its next phase of expansion.
"We are focusing on port equipment and container stacker solutions because import export activity is growing," he said. "Very soon you will see these kinds of equipment from ACE."
The move signals ACE's intention to strengthen its presence across the larger logistics and industrial infrastructure ecosystem, where demand for advanced material handling solutions is expected to rise steadily in the years ahead.
As warehousing operations become increasingly automated, vertical and space conscious, equipment manufacturers are under pressure to deliver smarter solutions that combine efficiency, flexibility and cost effectiveness. ACE's latest launches suggest the company is positioning itself to meet exactly those demands.
