Castrol and Volvo Car extend global partnership

Castrol’s scientists and Volvo’s engineers collaborating to improve fuel efficiency

 

Castrol and the Volvo Car Group have announced they have renewed their global partnership. The agreement which covers engine oils, gear oils and greases in all new vehicles in Volvo's global manufacturing facilities will also see the supply of lubricants to Volvo dealers across the globe.  

The partnership will see the two companies work together on improving fuel efficiency, enabling engines to manage variations in fuel quality in different parts of the world and the implications of future mobility trends. Castrol's scientists and Volvo's engineers worked closely on the development of Volvo's latest Drive-E engines to create bespoke engine oils, which contribute to the fuel efficiency gains Volvo are seeing in their latest lineup of hybrid, gasoline and diesel powertrains.
