Mining ministry invites science and technology projects proposals

All projects should possess Scientific and Technical Merit and relevance to the Industry.

Projects are invited from Academic Institutions, Universities, National Institutes and R&D Institution recognized by the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research, Government of India, for up to 3 years duration in thrust areas such as:

1.      Exploration of rare earth minerals.

2.      Development of new technology for mineral exploration on land and deep sea.

3.      Research in mining methods including rock mechanics, mine designing, etc.

4.      Research in metallurgy.

5.      Development of new alloys etc.

All projects should possess Scientific and Technical Merit and relevance to the Industry.

Science and Technology (S&T) projects are funded through grant-in-aid by the Ministry of Mines through the process of project evaluation by Project Evaluation and Review Committee (PERC) and recommended projects are approved by the Standing Scientific Advisory Group (SSAG) constituted by the Ministry.
