France invited to invest in India's aviation sector

The Union Minister of Civil Aviation met his counterpart in the sidelines of the Paris Air Show and discussed opportunities in manufacturing, infrastructure development, and investment in India’s aviation sector

Ashok Gajapathi Raju, Union Minister of Civil Aviation, leading India's delegation at the 51st International Air Show in Paris met Alain Vidalies, the Minister for Transport, Marine Affairs and Fisheries of France.

They discussed various issues related to the aviation sector. The discussion focussed on manufacturing, infrastructure development, and investment into India's aviation sector.

The delegation also met the senior management personnel of important companies like Bombardier, Boeing and SAFRAN. The Minister informed them about various opportunities in Indian aviation market and the ‘Make in India' campaign.

He invited them to manufacture their products in India as they already have a large presence in the country. He also invited them for ‘India Aviation 2016'.

Earlier, the delegation attended the inaugural function of the Air Show. The inauguration was attended by delegations from more than 100 countries.

Ashok Gajapathi Raju interacted with the Indian Exhibitors participating in the Air Show. They informed the Minister about their products and services being offered to the global industry.

The delegation also met the CEO and senior management of Textron, Thales and Dassault.
