GECAS announces order for 60 Airbus A320s

GECAS’ order for more of our best-selling A320neo aircraft underscores the continuing strong market demand for these innovative, fuel-efficient and productive aircraft, says Airbus COO

GE Capital Aviation Services (GECAS), the aviation leasing and financing arm of GE announced a firm order for 60 Airbus A320neo family aircraft. All of the aircraft will be powered by CFM's LEAP-1A engine.

The agreement was jointly announced today by GECAS President and CEO Norman C.T. Liu and Airbus Chief Operating Officer, Customers, John Leahy. This new order brings the total number of A320neo aircraft ordered by GECAS to 120.

"We continue to see demand from our customers for reliable and fuel-efficient narrow body aircraft like the A320neo and this order positions GECAS to meet that demand," said Liu.
