QWR Interactive Solutions Pvt. Ltd. (QWR) and Kaynes Technology India Ltd. (Kaynes) have announced a partnership to co-develop and manufacture advanced AR/VR devices and smart glasses in India.
The collaboration aims to create India's first integrated waveguide and XR device manufacturing ecosystem by combining design, engineering, and large-scale production capabilities under one roof. The initiative will help localize key components, reduce import dependence, and generate over 1,000 skilled jobs by 2027.
"With Kaynes, we're building deep-tech infrastructure that gives India full-stack ownership of the XR value chain," said Suraj Aiar, Founder and CEO, QWR. "This partnership ensures India plays a leading role in shaping the future of computing."
Himanshu Verma, AI/XR Business Head at Kaynes Technology, added, "This collaboration will help scale world-class hardware manufacturing in India and nurture new engineering talent in emerging technologies."
The initiative will begin with the production of AR/VR headsets and waveguide optics, followed by AI-powered smart glasses for defense, education, and enterprise applications. It will also pave the way for future R&D in sensors, optics, and display technologies.
With strong policy support for electronics manufacturing and a rapidly growing XR market, the QWR–Kaynes partnership represents a significant step toward establishing India as a global hub for immersive technology development and production.
