Piaggio gets BS VI ARAI certification for its diesel range

Becomes First 3-Wheeler Manufacturer in India to get the certification

This certification comes much ahead of the deadline

Piaggio Vehicles Pvt Ltd (PVPL), a 100 % subsidiary of the Italian Piaggio Group and India's leading manufacturer of small commercial vehicles, has received India's first ARAI BSVI compliance certification for its Diesel-powered range of 3 Wheelers.

Commenting on the development, PVPL MD & CEO Diego Graffi said "Piaggio has consistently led the industry in technology and innovation. The successful completion of the compliance test and certification much ahead of the official implementation date of April 1, 2020 further strengthens the company's position as a technology leader".

Speaking on the occasion, Saju Nair, EVP and Head of CV Business, PVPL said, "We are delighted to be the first 3-Wheeler Manufacturer in India to receive BS VI Certification for our Diesel Product Range. This certification much ahead of the deadline will help us have a smooth transition from BSIV to BSVI through better channel stock management.

We are also sure that our customers will benefit from this technology and the enhanced performance parameters of these vehicles.

After receiving the certification from ARAI Director Rashmi Hemant Urdhwareshe, Anand Bhangaonkar, EVP and Head R&D PVPL Said, "It is a proud moment to receive India's first BSVI compliance of a small single cylinder Diesel engine and its applications for CV We thank the ARAI Team for their continuous Support to us for achieving this benchmark in record time. We look forward to similar support from them for our upcoming product range. In addition to the certification of Diesel range we are happy to also receive the BSVI certification for our Ape' City LPG vehicle."
