Motherson Sumi gets biggest ever order from Daimler

To invest in two new plants to execute the Rs15,400 crore order that includes supply of interior and exterior systems for various new Mercedes-Benz vehicle generations

Samvardhana Motherson Group received the Daimler Supplier Award 2014 for 'Partnership'

Vivek Chaand Sehgal, Chairman (MSSL) said "While we can't give any specific details about these orders. But we can state that the preparatory work for the establishment of the two new plants has already begun. We are eager to start producing products matching Motherson's global quality in these two plants."

Motherson's relationship with Daimler dates back to 1997 when the Group started to supply cockpits and wire harnesses to Daimler in India. Motherson has invested significantly in expansion of capacities, modernisation and geographic footprint mainly in Germany, Hungary, China, Czech Republic and Slovakia to support Daimler's global expansion.

Additionally, Samvardhana Motherson Group received the Daimler Supplier Award 2014 in the category 'Partnership' in February 2015. Motherson was honored as "a reliable partner who supports Mercedes-Benz's global growth by investment in capacity expansion and new plants".
