Ismail Dagli is set to assume leadership of Continental's Autonomous Mobility business area, commencing October 1. This transition marks the departure of Frank Petznick, who, by his own request, will be leaving the company at the close of September.

Dagli has been at the forefront of Continental's Smart Mobility business area since the start of 2022, overseeing mobility services, fleet operators, and commercial vehicle manufacturers within the Automotive group sector.

His journey began in 2005 as a development engineer for advanced driver assistance and active safety systems at Daimler. In 2008, he shifted to Bosch, where he assumed various leadership roles in both Germany and the United States. In 2020, he joined Continental and assumed the mantle of head of research and development within the Advanced Driver Assistance Systems business unit. The recent restructuring of the Automotive group sector transferred this unit to the Autonomous Mobility business area, which Dagli will now spearhead.

Philipp von Hirschheydt, a member of Continental's Executive Board and the head of the Automotive group sector, lauds Dagli's global managerial experience and in-depth knowledge in automated and autonomous driving technology. Dagli is tasked with advancing the partner-focused strategy of the Autonomous Mobility business area to enhance its technological and commercial foothold.

The company views significant growth opportunities in systems and components within the autonomous mobility sector, with radar sensors generating substantial worldwide interest. The Autonomous Mobility business area has confirmed orders for satellites and premium radars from a prominent carmaker, and parking features offer additional business potential.
