Katsushi Inoue appointed HCIL's new President & CEO

Hiroyuki Shimizu will become the new Sr. Vice President and Director, Marketing and Sales, HCIL, starting April 1, 2015.

Katsushi Inoue will take over as the new President and CEO of Honda Cars India Ltd (HCIL) and Hiroyuki Shimizu will become the new Sr. Vice President and Director, Marketing & Sales, HCIL, starting April 1, 2015.

In another move, Yoshiyuki Matsumoto, Managing Officer, representing Development, Purchasing, and Production in Asia and Oceania since April 2013, who was stationed in India for his role, will return to Japan to take over as the COO of the automobile operations at Honda Motors. Later in June, he is set to become the Sr. Managing Officer and Director at Honda Motors, post approval by the shareholders in the company's general meeting.

On April 1, Inoue will take over from Hironori Kanayama, President and CEO for the last three years.

Inoue comes with vast experience in the automobile industry. He has been associated with Honda Motors for over 29 years and has worked with Honda ventures across the globe, including in the markets of Japan, Thailand, Malaysia, UK, Poland and Germany. In his last assignment, he has served as General Manager in Marketing Planning, in the Japan headquarters.

Hiroyuki Shimizu will succeed current Sr. Vice President and Director, Marketing and Sales, Shigeru Yamazaki.

Shimizu has been with Honda Motors for over 25 years and has served as Director and Vice President in Honda Automobile (Thailand), in his last assignment. He has significant experience in product planning, marketing and sales.
