Ravikumar SV appointed as CEO of Bharat GPS Bioenergy Private Limited

In his new role, Ravikumar will lead BGBPL’s mission to increase biogas production and support India’s clean energy objectives

GPS Renewables, the world's largest biogas engineering company, has appointed Ravikumar SV as the CEO of the newly incorporated Bharat GPS Bioenergy Private Limited (BGBPL). This joint venture, formed between GPS Renewables and Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL), is focused on accelerating India's transition to bioenergy.

In his new role, Ravikumar will lead BGBPL's mission to increase biogas production and support India's clean energy objectives.

With over 29 years of experience in the oil and gas industry, Ravikumar possesses extensive expertise in project planning and execution. Before this appointment, he served as Senior Vice President, overseeing project planning, cost control and billing, and project execution. His nomination as CEO of Bharat GPS Bioenergy Pvt Ltd was approved during the company's first board meeting on July 2.

 Ravikumar holds a degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the College of Engineering Guindy, Anna University. He is recognised for his skills in programme/project management, maintenance management, and engineering management, with a proven track record in handling complex projects and maintenance programmes.

Commenting on his appointment, Ravikumar SV, CEO of Bharat GPS Bioenergy Private Limited (BGBPL), stated, "The joint venture between GPS Renewables and Bharat Petroleum will significantly contribute to scaling up biogas production in India. With 8 to 12 projects planned in the initial phase, BGBPL aims to establish a robust compressed biogas (CBG) ecosystem across the country. I look forward to joining the team and leading our efforts to advance India's clean energy goals."
