As part of this investment, Bajel will also strengthen its production capabilities in transmission towers, monopoles, lighting towers, high masts, and other critical infrastructure products.

Bajel Projects Limited (Bajel) has announced a significant proposed investment of Rs 170 crore to more than double its galvanisation capacity at its Ranjangaon facility in Maharashtra. This strategic expansion, set to increase output from over 40,000 metric tonnes (MT) per annum to more than 100,000 MT per annum, underscores Bajel's commitment to the 'Make in India' initiative, enhances operational efficiency, and positions the company to capitalise on the booming power transmission market.

As part of this investment, Bajel will also strengthen its production capabilities in transmission towers, monopoles, lighting towers, high masts, and other critical infrastructure products.

A Bhumi Pujan ceremony was held on July 10, 2025, at the Ranjangaon plant. The auspicious occasion was graced by Chairman Shekhar Bajaj, alongside employees and the leadership teams from both Bajel Projects and Bajaj Electricals. Reflecting on the company's growth, Bajaj emphasised the strategic imperative of capacity expansion. He recalled the establishment of the Ranjangaon plant in the early 2000s and acknowledged the late Shri Anant Bajaj's instrumental role in nurturing the facility's growth to support the EPC business. He also called for a more aspirational and goal-oriented approach, encouraging teams to maximise the new galvanisation plant's potential.

The expansion will be executed in phases between Q4 FY26 and Q4 FY27, funded through a prudent mix of internal accruals and debt. The move comes as the Ranjangaon unit currently operates at an impressive 98 per cent capacity utilisation, highlighting the pressing need for augmentation. This investment will not only address Bajel's growing captive demand but also unlock greater sales potential in both domestic and export markets. The enhanced capacity will strengthen Bajel's position as a key player in India's power transmission ecosystem and make a meaningful contribution to national infrastructure development.

The global power transmission market is witnessing robust growth, fuelled by rising electricity demand, rapid urbanisation and industrialisation, and the accelerating adoption of renewable energy. Governments across the world are prioritising the expansion and modernisation of power grids to ensure reliable, efficient energy distribution. In India, this momentum is amplified by large-scale infrastructure initiatives and the country's economic trajectory, creating fertile ground for companies like Bajel to make a transformative impact.

Commenting on this landmark development, Rajesh Ganesh, Managing Director and CEO of Bajel Projects Limited, said, "This major capacity expansion reflects our unwavering commitment to the ‘Make in India' vision. By more than doubling our galvanisation output, we are not only enhancing operational efficiency and addressing surging market demand but also contributing to India's journey towards self-reliance. This investment is a testament to our belief in the Indian economy's strong growth potential and our resolve to deliver world-class products and services."
