Microchip Technology has announced a new partnership agreement with Delta Electronics, Inc. (hereafter referred to as "Delta Electronics"), a global leader in power management and smart green solutions. Under this agreement, the companies will collaborate to integrate Microchip's mSiC™ products and technology into Delta's designs. The synergy between the two aims to accelerate the development of innovative silicon carbide (SiC) solutions and energy-saving products and systems that support a more sustainable future.
"SiC is increasingly important in sustainable power solutions due to its wide-bandgap properties, which enable smaller and more efficient designs for high-voltage, high-power applications at a lower system cost," said Clayton Pillion, Vice President of Microchip's High-Power Solutions Business Unit. "We look forward to forging an impactful path with Delta Electronics in innovating SiC solutions to meet the rising demand stemming from the electrification of everything."
As a global leader in power management, Delta continues to advance its core competencies in high-efficiency power electronics and proactively explores next-generation technologies to enhance the energy efficiency of its products and solutions. Delta plans to leverage Microchip's extensive experience and advanced capabilities in SiC and digital control to accelerate the time to market for its solutions in high-growth sectors such as AI, mobility, automation, and infrastructure.
This agreement focuses the companies' resources on validating Microchip's mSiC solutions to fast-track their implementation in Delta's designs and programmes. Other key advantages of the agreement include top-tier design support, technical training, insights into ongoing R&D activities, and early access to product samples.
With over 20 years of experience in the development, design, manufacturing, and support of SiC devices and power solutions, Microchip enables customers to adopt SiC technology with greater ease, speed, and confidence. Microchip's mSiC portfolio includes SiC MOSFETs, diodes, and gate drivers, available in standard, modified, and custom configurations.
