Jindal Mobilitric, a division of Jindal Worldwide Limited (JWL), is making strides in the electric mobility space. Jindal Mobilitric Private Limited is a subsidiary of JWL and has officially unveiled its new electric vehicle model, the "R40", which offers a range of 165 km.

The new EV marks Jindal Worldwide's strategic entry into the fast-evolving electric mobility sector through Jindal Mobilitric. The company has submitted the model for homologation and is currently awaiting government approval. Once cleared, the vehicle will be launched through the company's existing dealer network, with production facilities already fully operational.

Currently operating with 35 dealers across India, Jindal Mobilitric plans to expand to 100 dealerships over the next year.

Commenting on the development, a spokesperson from Jindal Worldwide said, "Electric mobility is the future of transportation, and our foray into EV production is a strategic and significant milestone for us. The research and development of the EV have been done entirely in-house, and we are excited about its launch."

Jindal Mobilitric has set up a manufacturing facility in Ahmedabad with a production capacity of 2.5 lakh vehicles per annum. It has also established a fully automated, in-house battery manufacturing plant with a matching production capacity. The objective of setting up this in-house battery facility is to ensure the highest level of battery safety, foster greater consumer trust in EV products, and accelerate the adoption of electric vehicles in India.
