The Behaviour Based Safety (BBS) Programme aims to improve safety measures

British Safety Council has recently introduced its Behaviour Based Safety (BBS) Programme in India. BBS is a safety initiative which helps organisations in improving their safety maturity. Through observation, feedback and positive interventions, the programme takes a behaviour-based approach to reduce the occurrence of risky behaviour.

The BBS programme helps organisations understand behavioural safety through a series of training programs which include Behaviour Based Safety training workshops, Train the Trainer workshops and Safety Leadership Training for Senior Leaders.

The programme incorporates four phases. The phase one is conducting a need analysis, phase two is customising the training programme, phase three is the programme delivery and continuous learning and implementation is the fourth phase.

Commenting on the programme, Hemant Sethi, Managing Director, British Safety Council, India, said, "An organisation achieves safety maturity when everyone considers safety as a value and not just a priority. Individuals in such an organisation take responsibility for their own actions and the actions of their co-workers. The Behaviour Based Safety programme is designed to foster a holistic understanding of safety within the organisation and prepare everyone for future implementation of safety measures."
