Gamesa bags an order for development of wind power project

Gamesa India has entered into an agreement with ReNew Power for a 40 MW turnkey order consisting of 20 units of custom made G97-2.0MW class S with tower height of 104m.

Gamesa India, one of the market leaders in Indian renewable energy sector, has entered into an agreement with ReNew Power, a leading Independent Power Producer in the country, for a 40 MW turnkey order consisting of 20 units of custom made G97-2.0MW class S with tower height of 104m. This project is located in Ron district in Karnataka.

According to the contract, Gamesa will develop the entire infrastructure needed to operate the project including supply, erection and commissioning of 20 units of G97-2.0 MW class S wind turbines which are the custom designed for tapping low wind sites in India. Gamesa has also entered into a long term operations and maintenance agreement to ensure smooth functioning of the wind farm. The project will be commissioned by September this year.

Elaborating on the order, Ramesh Kymal, Chairman and Managing Director, Gamesa India said, "We are delighted to win yet another order from ReNew Power, which reaffirms their trust and confidence in us.
