CG wins US$35 million order in Indonesia

Critical components for a project to improve the Indonesian transmission grid

Bidding for the contract took the form of a competitive and transparent open book process introduced by PT PLN in 2012. All manufacturers taking part therefore had to pass stringent quality checks, particularly with regard to low losses and a higher degree of polymerization. The power transformers will be manufactured in CG's world-class manufacturing facility in Indonesia, which comprises a vertical winding machine, a vapor phase drying oven and a state-of-the-art 500kVA test facility.

CG won this order due to its successful track record with PT PLN, backed by a global recognition of its technical expertise in manufacturing and supplying high-voltage transformers. Since 1993, CG has regularly provided PT PLN with power transformers in the range of 30 MVA to 500 MVA and voltage levels up to 500 kV. This latest order reinforces the strong relationship between the two companies.

Commenting on this prestigious win, Avantha Group Company CG's Managing Director & CEO, K. N. Neelkant said: "We thank PT PLN for this significant order that reaffirms their trust in CG's manufacturing expertise. At CG we remain focused on supporting our customers and to that effect we have consistently built on our reputation as a top quality provider of turnkey products and solutions both in the domestic and international market."
