LVD Launches Ricobb to Boost Bending Efficiency

By Staff Reporter,

Added 10 October 2025

LVD Company nv has introduced Ricobb, a new collaborative cobot bending system that works seamlessly with all LVD press brakes installed since 2001.

Developed by LVD Robotic Solutions (LRS), LVD's dedicated automation division, Ricobb is designed to help sheet metalworking companies increase bending productivity, address labour shortages, and move towards lights-out manufacturing. It also offers the flexibility to adapt quickly to changing production needs.

Compact, Mobile, and Easy to Use

Ricobb is a compact, mobile cobot that's simple to move, dock, and program. It can be up and running within just a few days. When deployed on a press brake, Ricobb takes over the bending of small, repetitive parts, freeing operators to focus on more complex work.

Thanks to its automatic press brake recognition, Ricobb can be quickly reassigned to another machine as production needs shift, with no complicated setup required. Once docked, it runs autonomously, ensuring consistent, reliable bending and maximum machine uptime.

Simple Programming, Minimal Training

Ricobb's intuitive, icon-based interface makes it easy to teach and operate, even for users without programming experience. Operators only need to define pick, bend, and regrip positions. From there, Ricobb learns through guided instruction, recording each movement and repeating it with precision.

Flexible, Affordable Automation

Ricobb provides manufacturers with a cost-effective way to automate routine bending tasks and make better use of existing equipment. It adds extra capacity without major infrastructure changes, helping businesses achieve a faster return on investment.

For even greater versatility, Ricobb supports custom gripper extensions that can be tailored to specific applications within its payload range, allowing companies to handle a wider variety of parts and production jobs.

Part of LVD's Growing Robotic Solutions Portfolio

LVD Robotic Solutions (LRS) was established in 2022 following LVD's acquisition of KUKA Solutions Benelux. The division's mission is to make robotic automation more accessible and affordable for manufacturers of all sizes.

LRS develops customised solutions for a range of industries and applications, from turnkey handling systems to machine tending and material flow optimisation, helping manufacturers embrace the next step in smart, automated production.
