Kirloskar Brothers Ltd's Dewas plant has been recognised as a ‘Green Company' by the Green Business Centre (GBC) of Confederation of Indian Industry (CII). This is in compliance with its Green Company Rating System. The GreenCo rating systems is a pioneering initiative by CII to assess and analysis the green footprint of the company and helps them in defining the path forward.

KBL's Dewas unit secured the ‘Silver Rating' in its first attempt on GreenCo for its leadership towards ecological sustainability, marking another landmark in company's green initiatives. With this accreditation, KBL has also attained the distinction of becoming the first Indian pump manufacturing company to achieve the ‘GreenCo.' rating.

LS Ganapati, Chairman, GreenCo Assessment Panel, CII - Godrej GBC, said, "To begin with, I, on behalf of CII-Godrej GBC, would like to congratulate the entire team at KBL for demonstrating strong commitment towards optimal utilization of natural resources in order to create a sustainable business.  We are confident that the good work done by Kirloskar Brothers Ltd, Dewas Unit will pave way for establishing itself as a global benchmark for pump manufacturing companies going ‘Green', thereby leaving an example for others to emulate".

KBL is deeply committed towards adopting such best practices and set similar benchmark across all its facilities. The next step is to get GreeenCo rating for Kaniyur plant in Tamil Nadu, Kondhapuri plant in Maharashtra and this year followed assessment of Sanand plant in Gujarat.

Kirloskar Brothers has been recognized and awarded for other green initiatives undertaken at the company. A LEED certified Platinum rated green building for ‘Yamuna', its corporate office in Pune.
