Haas makes 5-axis machining affordable

Combination of a drill/tap centre and dual-axis rotary/tilting table can deliver both 3+2 and full 5-axis machining

The TRT-100 uses powerful brushless servomotors to provide 47 Nm of spindle torque on the tilt axis and 22 Nm on the rotary axis, with indexing speeds of 1000 deg/sec on both axes. In addition, the unit offers ±120 degrees of tilt and 360 degrees of rotation to position parts to almost any angle for machining.

The precision-ground 100 mm platter features multiple bolt patterns and a precision through-bore for versatile fixturing, and will swing parts up to 213 mm diameter. In terms of platter capacity, the maximum weight is 6.8 kg for 3+2 machining, and 2.25 kg for 5-axis machining.

At just 508 mm wide and less than 330 mm deep, the TRT-100 is the perfect complement for the high speed DT-1 Drill/Tap Centre, and can easily be removed when not needed. Ultimately then, an extremely competent, versatile and affordable 5-axis machining centre is now available to machine shops everywhere.
