Volkswagen India builds primary school in Pune

Made for 120 students, it will also focus on encouraging children to respect natural resources

 

Volkswagen India announced the inauguration of a new primary school building in Phadke-Wasti, Nighoje helping provide excellent education facilities to growing communities in the emerging industrial zone of Chakan, Pune. Developed solely by Volkswagen India as part of their larger CSR initiative towards education and skill development, the school can cater up to 120 students every year.

The new school building was inaugurated by Ms. Deepali Kale, Member, Zilla Parishad in the presence of Dr. Andreas Lauermann, President and Managing Director, Volkswagen India, Mr. Andreas Jahn, Vice President, Manufacturing Engineering & Plant Engineering, Mr Pankaj Gupta, Vice President, External Affairs and CSR, Volkswagen India and Shri Ramesh Gaikwad, Sarpanch, Nighoje on June 05, 2018.

Speaking at the inauguration, Dr. Lauermann said, "We have had long discussions with our neighbouring communities to find out their needs and requirements with a focus on long term growth and development. Education is a key aspect for growth and having the right infrastructure can make a world of difference in the early stages of child's development. We have been committed to helping communities in a sustainable manner and will continue to do so in the future."
