Centre at Vadodara will offer technical, product upgradations and application development services.

Perry Vyas, Managing Director, Skaps India, said: "We are eager to use RIL's world-class PARC facility as it is manned by the best talent in India. The unique combination of ultra-modern machineries, experienced technologists and engineers will help us boost the quality of our product offerings, and save costs as well. The facility will serve as an incubator for us to innovate and manufacture top quality products for international markets."

The processing machinery section at PARC is equipped with advanced machineries that can use PE for making mono & multilayer blown films, PP TQ film, PE & PP cast films & sheets. The huge shop floor also equipped to make articles through the processes of blow molding, injection molding, roto molding, compression molding and pipe extrusion.

The PARC team also engages with end-user industries, such as FMCG, automobile, food and beverages, agriculture, OEMs converters and other polymer processors.

The applications laboratory at the PARC, one of the best in India, is capable of performing tests for characterization of polymers in accordance with the Indian and international standards. It is equipped with facilities for physical, mechanical, thermal, optical, environmental and rheological tests.

The PARC offers its processing and testing services to customers - value-added services like evaluation of their existing products, formulation of new products, creation of new applications and helping them meet the global standards.

Surendra Agarwal, Director, Creative Group, who was present at the inauguration of the PARC, said: "Reliance's new product application development and research facility will provide us state-of-the art technical support and high quality testing and analysis essential for our product development. We will use this facility for optimizing costs and enhancing our product quality. This facility will be helpful to us in carving out an edge for our products in the market place."

It is imperative to mention here that the PARC's biggest achievement is the development and introduction of Octene LLDPE film grade for milk packaging, and plastic woven sack for food grain packaging. They have benefited the public at large by enhancing shelf life and reducing wastage of milk, food grains and vegetables.

The PARC is also spearheading training programs for plastic processors, converters, operators and young polymer professionals, thus contributing towards knowledge enhancement of the polymer fraternity.

Further, the PARC team actively engages with polymer-centric education institutions, industry associations and machinery manufacturers for the development of the industry and knowledge sharing.

Apart from the PARC, RIL houses its Product Development Centre at Vadodara. It specializes in plasticulture application development, and creates awareness by providing on-ground training to farmers about plasticulture product usages and their benefits.

Also, there is the Elastomer Customer Support Centre for research, testing and product development activities for elastomer.

RIL also has state-of-the-art R&D facilities, headquartered in Navi Mumbai, where an impressive array of advanced equipment is available to more than 800 researchers and scientists working round-the-clock.
