iCreate hosts EVangelise'23 Bootcamp EV innovation challenge

The bootcamp is showcasing solutions to real world challenges faced by the EV.

iCreate (International Centre for Entrepreneurship and Technology), India's leading innovation-based startup incubator, is hosting the 5-day Bootcamp of India's largest EV innovation challenge, EVangelise'23 at its state-of-the-art campus near Ahmedabad, Gujarat.

The bootcamp, from November 3 to 7, is showcasing solutions to real world challenges faced by the EV industry in India by the top 40 innovators from more than 2,700 entries.

This year's EVangelise has introduced funding opportunities, apart from cash prizes and incubation support. EVangelise '23 invited innovations from across various stages of development under three key EV technology themes - the Traction, Energy and Telematics, Intelligence and Connectivity (TIC). Winners of EVangelise'23 will receive a total cash prize of Rs 56 lakh.

Avinash Punekar, CEO of iCreate, said, "India's rapid economic growth positions it as the future manufacturing hub across various sectors, particularly in the electric vehicle industry. The 'Make in India' initiative aims for 100% local EV production, and we are in the early stages of this exciting journey. iCreate has been contributing to this goal by hosting EVangelise, India's biggest EV innovation challenge, for the past three years."

Aligned with India's 2030 vision of EVs being 80 per cent of all two- and three-wheeler sales, EVangelise '23 aims to foster collaboration and opportunities for valuable mentorship the bootcamp also saw masterclasses from technology experts from Ansys and MathWorks.

Earlier in June 2023, iCreate announced EVangelise '23, which has two categories: the idea stage and the scale-up stage. Startups at the ideation stage (Below TRL 5) will have the opportunity to present their concepts and potentially form strategic partnerships with industrial partners. Meanwhile, startups at the scale-up stage (TRL 5 & above) will have the opportunity to connect with venture capital firms to secure the necessary funding for their growth and expansion.
