ISB program to boost leadership and innovation in manufacturing

By Swati Sanyal Tarafdar,

Added 22 April 2015

The CPMOM course is supposed to prepare the country’s talent base for the forthcoming manufacturing boom

ISB has designed the CPMOM course typically for proactive small and medium scale entrepreneurs in the manufacturing sector and the middle management executives who are dealing in production, logistics, quality, IT, procurement, strategy, consulting, supply chain management, brand and product management, and customer service management.

Those who need to gain familiarity with various management tools, methods and apply them for greater business impact, want to understand and communicate the ‘business side' of the manufacturing sector story, want to understand business needs better, and delve into product design and business development, and aspiring CEOs can also join this course to push their careers ahead.

The programme curriculum

The curriculum will cover a wide range of relevant subjects and include:

• Pedagogy: A framework through which participants learn to enhance their management skills, expand their knowledge of retail management, and gain a strategic perspective of the retail industry.

• Pre-Course Reading Material: Participants are expected to spend 8 to 10 hours per week studying provided text books, cases, articles and other material before they commence classes each term. Online assessments and pre-course projects are also incorporated in the programme to ensure academic rigour.

• Industry Speakers / Visits: Interactions with industry speakers and regular visits to relevant organisations will enhance the understanding of the concepts of the module from a practitioner's perspective, making it easier to apply the learning immediately.

• Simulations: Simulations help maximise on classroom learning as the decisions that the participants have to make in these simulations replicate the kind of decisions they would encounter in their respective organisations. They let participants apply the management theories learnt in class to a simulated business environment and evaluate the results of their decisions.

The fee for the programme has been set at INR 9,00,000 plus tax and it starts on May 29, 2015.
