Honda first two-wheeler to use inland waterways

The Ro-Ro Ghogha-Dahej ferry service will reduce the time of travel from Narsapura plant to Saurashtra by one day

Commenting on this new development, Yadvinder Singh Guleria, Senior Vice President, Sales & Marketing, Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India Pvt. Ltd. said, "With ‘Make in India' boosting the manufacturing sector of the country across regions, this infrastructural development will open a new chapter of transportation. Tapping the full potential of waterways, Honda aims to reduce the carbon emissions caused due to conventional transport. This service will not just rationalize the logistic expense but also ensure faster transportation and boost business opportunities in Saurashtra region for the goods coming from South".

 

World's largest Scooter factory in Gujarat

Honda 2Wheelers India operates its fourth production plant located at Vithalapur area in the western state of Gujarat near Ahmedabad. The plant currently produces 1.2 million units annually. Recently, the company has also announced to build a new production line within the existing plant site. The new production line will add 0.6 million units and increase the total annual production capacity of scooters only facility to 1.8 million units by the year 2020.
