ASSOCHAM-HIDA sign MoU to facilitate Indian and Japanese companies

The soft skills development programme for industry professionals will help foster mutual economic development and friendly relations and promote co-operation amongst people in the industrial sector

ASSOCHAM, India's apex industry body, and Japan-based Overseas Human Resources and Industry Development Association (HIDA) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for ‘Advance Soft Skills Development Project in India,' to facilitate companies both in India and Japan.

The MoU was signed by Sadao Takeda, Senior Managing Director, HIDA and Rahul Sharma, Chairman, India-Japan Business Promotion Council of ASSOCHAM.

"The purpose of the MoU is to contribute towards fostering mutual economic development and friendly relations in both the countries through promoting co-operation in terms of the advance soft skills development amongst people in the industrial sector," said Sharma.

"The MoU stipulates that both the parties shall collaborate and cooperate through effectively utilizing their respective schemes and assets for the development of industrial human resources via implementation of joint programme, all of which are intended to build advance soft skills amongst people in the industrial sector and promote sustainable growth in India," said Sharma.

"The MoU has a special significance owing to development of "Japan Industrial Townships" in India, an initiative which was agreed in Tokyo Declaration, especially in Delhi Mumbai Industrial Corridor (DMIC) and Chennai Bengaluru Industrial Corridor (CBIC) regions in order to facilitate Japanese investment in India and in this regard, they identified following 9 candidate sites for "Japan Industrial Townships," informed the ASSOCHAM chairperson.
