JBM Group to convert waste into energy for Haryana Govt.

Ties up with Integrated Waste Management Co. EKOLOG Ltd.; Wins first project for Sonepat, Panipat, Samalkha, Gannaur, Haryana

 

JBM Group, India's leading business conglomerate, has forayed into Waste to Energy sector with signing of Concession Agreement with Haryana Government to build and operate a 5 MW power plant in Sonepat that will treat 500 tonnes of municipal waste per day.

The project will be developed by JBM Environment Management Pvt. Ltd. at an investment of Rs 176 crore and will entail door to door collection of waste, its transportation, construction & operation of the power plant. JBM Group has roped in Europe's leading company EKOLOG Ltd., which has more than 30 years' experience in operating integrated waste management systems in Europe and Asia.

The power plant will be spread across 20 acres area in Sonepat for which the land has been allotted by the state government. The project will help dispose of 500 tonnes of solid waste per day generated from Sonepat cluster, which comprises of Sonepat, Panipat, Samalkha and Gannaur.

The concession agreement was signed between JBM Group represented by Vinay Maheshwari and Directorate of Urban Local Bodies of Haryana by Nitin Kumar Yadav, IAS in the presence of Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar at Haryana Bhawan in New Delhi recently.
