Made in India products makes foray into SAARC region

Bosch India's Security Technology business unit has expanded its product portfolio to offer its local customers tailored solutions. Aiming to increase the share of its localized portfolio the business unit has increased its R&D investment by around 30 percent. "The Indian Security market has matured greatly from what it was a decade ago. There has been a surge in the need for improved security solutions. This coupled along with the intention to become smart is an entry point for technology forward companies like Bosch to take advantage of," said, Sudhir Tiku, head - South Asia, Bosch Security Systems.

The business unit has been successful in localising products such as amplifiers, speakers and conference systems. Key products also include an entry-level conference system. Other highlights of localisation include the robust and easy to use amplifier, and affordable speakers for the public address domain. A major achievement in reaching some of the goals associated with the ‘Make in India' campaign has been the business division's entry into the SAARC region last year with products that have been made in India. "With this entry, expectations of growth are even higher. It is the vision of the business unit to achieve complete self-reliance through such quality offerings," Tiku further commented.

Speaking about the business unit's growth potential, Tiku, elaborated, "For Bosch Security Technology, there is immense growth potential as we are trying to meet the demands of various segments, such as transportation, energy and infrastructure. The business unit has had remarkable success especially with its conferencing- cum-voting system. Bosch's systems have been installed in major assemblies of India and the SAARC region." Elaborating further he said, "We are preparing to provide Safety, Security and Communication solutions that are in line with India's Smart City initiatives. We are collaborating with partners who have been present in this eco-system for long."
