“Hitachi Vantara Unveils VSP One Block High End to Power the AI-Driven Enterprise”

Hitachi Vantara has introduced the Virtual Storage Platform One Block High End, a powerful all-flash NVMe storage system created to meet the demands of modern enterprises facing rapid AI adoption, real-time analytics, and relentless data growth. As organisations push to modernise their digital core, many find that outdated infrastructure simply cannot keep up. With its combination of high performance, resilience, and unified data management, VSP One Block High End is designed to help businesses turn data into action while maintaining enterprise-grade protection and continuity.

This launch marks the completion of Hitachi Vantara's VSP One data platform strategy. The system enables seamless consolidation of workloads across open systems and mainframe environments, helping reduce operational complexity while improving security, reliability, and sustainability.

Modern organisations face constant pressure to support a growing mix of transactional systems, analytics pipelines, and AI workloads. Studies show that over 70 percent of IT leaders believe their current infrastructure is not ready for future ML and AI demand. Many are also spread across a complex patchwork of on-premises, hybrid, private, and public cloud environments. VSP One Block High End is engineered to meet these challenges head-on by offering faster processing, lower latency, and robust resilience, from high-performance databases to life-critical healthcare systems.

Octavian Tanase, chief product officer at Hitachi Vantara, describes the shift as a pivotal moment for data infrastructure. According to him, VSP One Block High End is not just a performance upgrade but a strategic enabler that helps enterprises rethink how they capture, protect, and scale data in an AI-first world.

Built on three foundational pillars, VSP One delivers secure resilience, simple performance and management, and sustainable scalability. It features built-in FIPS 140-3 Level 2 certified protection, eight nines of availability, and a cyber resilience guarantee that enables near-zero data loss and rapid restoration. The all-flash NVMe architecture supports up to 50 million IOPS and offers hardware-accelerated compression, while VSP 360 provides centralised fleet management, guided workflows, and mobile-enabled operations.

Customers are already taking notice. Mauro Guzelotto of T-Systems highlights that the platform addresses the mounting pressure created by AI workloads and exponential data growth, enabling enterprises to stay competitive and future ready. Partners echo this sentiment, noting that the architecture and scalability of VSP One Block High End make it ideal for the next generation of AI-intensive environments.

The platform also supports immutable snapshots, automated recovery, anomaly detection powered by CyberSense, and clean data restoration in seconds. It consolidates Open Systems and mainframe workloads and supports advanced connectivity such as 100G NVMe over TCP and 64G Fibre Channel.

VSP 360 further enhances the platform with integrated governance, AIOps-driven insights, and broad cloud compatibility across Microsoft Azure, AWS, and Google Cloud.
