“Gujarat CM reviews progress of Dholera SIR, envisions it as India's Semicon City”

Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel visited the Dholera Special Investment Region (SIR), which the state government aims to develop as a semiconductor hub. He reviewed the ongoing development work in the region, including the Dholera Smart City project, which is being built with world-class infrastructure under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Officials stated that 95 per cent of the Ahmedabad-Dholera Expressway has been completed, along with significant progress on other major infrastructure projects. Dholera has seen the completion of key infrastructure facilities, including roads, underground utilities, and plug-and-play industrial setups.

Essential amenities such as a water treatment plant, sewage treatment plant, common effluent treatment plant, ICT (information and communication technology) infrastructure, and a 300 MW solar park have also been completed. The Chief Minister reviewed several ongoing projects, including the Bhimnath-Dholera freight railway line, a 192-bed hospital, a school up to Class 12, a fire station, and residential facilities for investors.

The state government is actively working to transform Dholera Smart City into ‘Semicon City'. As part of this vision, a comprehensive semiconductor manufacturing ecosystem is being developed, with both domestic and international companies in the process of establishing their units in the region.

Ambrish Parajiya, Managing Director of GAP Group, commented, "Dholera is poised to emerge as one of the most dynamic industrial clusters, not just in Gujarat but across the country. It was our honour to showcase our project to Chief Minister Bhupendrabhai Patel. Through our world-class township project, we are ensuring that high-quality residential and commercial spaces keep pace with the region's industrial growth."

The CM also reviewed the progress of Tata Electronics' semiconductor plant at Dholera Semicon City. During his visit, he met with Tata officials to evaluate construction progress and toured the site. Additionally, he visited the Dholera International Airport to assess ongoing work on the cargo terminal, passenger terminal, and runway, being developed at an estimated cost of Rs 1,350 crore.
