Essel commissions 50 MW solar power project in UP

The solar plant is expected to generate 85 million units per year and connected to 132 KV Sarsela-Kalpi substations.

Essel Infraprojects Limited (EIL) an enterprise of Dr. Subash Chandra led Essel Group successfully commissioned the 50 MW Solar Power Project in Uttar Pradesh. The plant at Jalaun in Uttar Pradesh was inaugurated by the Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav under the Uttar Pradesh Solar Power Policy 2013 to enhance the renewable energy efforts in the state.

The Solar Power Project is built with the state-of-the-art technology located in 250 acres of land at Kuhana and Shajahanpur villages in Jalaun district, Uttar Pradesh signed under UP Solar Power Policy in December 2013 for 25 years. The solar plant is expected to generate 85 million units per year and connected to 132 KV Sarsela-Kalpi substations.

Ashok Agarwal, CEO & Whole Time Director, Essel Infraprojects, said, "Essel Infra's is pleased to associate with the Government of Uttar Pradesh in setting up the state-of-the-art 450 crores solar power project in Uttar Pradesh which will play an pivotal role in reducing the carbon footprints (CO2 level) by 45000 tonnes and will help to light 25000 houses in the state.

Taking the lead, Essel Group intends to facilitate India's green energy requirement by delivering sustainable energy and creating value to empower people, communities and businesses. For Essel Group, this is a step forward towards developing eco-friendly energy sources, underlining its commitment towards the State Government's initiative under Uttar Pradesh Solar Power Policy 2013-levelized power tariff scheme.
